MW080 IV Cannulation Arm Wrap

IV arm wrap around with embedded circular bloodline for IV training.This IV training arm sleeve is great for training to take blood, insert IVs, give injections, or for vaccination purposes


Realistic arm wrap with protective thermo-plastic and muscle 

layer silicone blood vessels. 

This model has 2 veins for IV cannulation training.

The skin is made with super-soft durable silicone.

The veins are partly visible and can be palpated.

This device can be used in conjunction with an IV tourniquet.

How to use the IV cannulation arm wrap:


Prepare thermo-plastic layer


  • Use hot water to soften the thermo-pastic

  • Dry off the layer andensure it is cool enough to apply to the subjects skin but still malleable

  • Place muscle layer on top of the protective thermo-plastic layer

  • Lay vessels into the grooves in the muscle layer

  • Apply Velcro underlayer

  • Apply skin layer

 

Set up for cannulation


  • Use red tinted water and fill the 30ml syringe

  • Connect the syringes to both leur locks - 30ml at the distal end, 10 ml at the proximal

  • Prime the vessel tube with the blood until the 10ml syringe is full

  • Remove the 30ml syringe and hide the filling end as required

  • Add light pressure to the 10ml syringe. This will provide the flashback for the user. - once flashback is achieved, you no longer need to provide pressure, unless simulating phlebotomy

  • Use 22 gauge cannulas or smaller, ensuring longevity of the arm

  • After use the tubes can be turned or moved  through the model or replaced as needed

  • To replace the tube, disconnect the luer lock connectors, remove the damaged tubing and replace with the supplied spares

  • Lightly lubricate the outside of your replacement tubing with petroleum jelly and insert. 

  • Reattach your luer lock connectors

This IV training arm wrap can also be used to take blood.


This model can achieve flashback when cannulating so long as pressure is maintained on the proximal syringe.

Pressure may cause leaks in previous puncture sites inside the model.

After some use areas of the model may become perforated.

These surface perforations at needle sites can be repaired with silicone from our repair kits. [link]




To repair the model :

Use a platinum silicone repair kit

Mix equal amounts of A and B silicone. Clean the area with some alcohol. 

Stretch the perforated area and fill holes with the silicone.

Stop stretching the area and wipe off any residue with a tissue. 

Cures within 1 hour.


Care instructions:

The model can be washed with warm water, dry thoroughly.

You can use talc powder to dull shiny areas on the model.

Ensure this product is clean and dry before storing

Flush lines with Iso-alcohol to prevent mould

Store in a cool, dry environment out of direct sunlight.
