Baby SIMira is a hyperrealistic, full-term neonatal skills trainer created to help clinicians practice critical moments after birth: airway management, resuscitation, and vascular access.

SIMira mirrors the weight, texture, and fragility of a real newborn. Every detail is designed to let learners experience the tactile and emotional reality of caring for a baby who needs immediate support.

Important Note:
SIMira is a post-delivery neonatal trainer. She is not designed for use in birthing simulators or live obstetric scenarios.

Airway & Breathing

• Fully intubatable via oral and nasal routes

• Compatible with bag-valve-mask (BVM) and most ventilator systems

• Accepts LMA and cuffed LMA devices

• Visible chest rise / fall provides immediate feedback

• Replaceable airway modules (x3) for ongoing use

• Oral and nasal passages suctionable for secretion or meconium clearance

Circulation & Access

• Umbilical Cannulation (UVC)

  • Three-line umbilical cord (two arteries + one vein) linked to internal fluid reservoir

  • Includes 3 cords at 40 cm each, trimmable to realistic post-delivery length

  • Supports fluid flow confirmation and repeated cannulation cycles

• Intraosseous (IO) Access – Right Leg

  • Anatomically correct proximal tibia site

  • Includes 12 replaceable IO bones, usable up to 5 drills each

  • Digital 3D file supplied for local re-printing of replacements

• Peripheral IV Cannulation – Right Arm - [will be left in redesign]

  • 50 cm internal tubing system

  • Syringe-driven positive-pressure feedback with realistic flashback

Resuscitation & Procedural Training

• Two-finger and two-thumb CPR with elastic chest recoil [Please trim your Nails]

• NG tube insertion with tactile feedback and aspiration validation

• Thermal management and team communication scenarios

Care & Maintenance

SIMira should be treated with the same care as a real infant to preserve realism and longevity.

Cleaning

• Wipe with warm soapy water after use.

• Disinfect with ≤ 70 % isopropyl alcohol.

• Do not immerse fully in water.

• Always insert a pacifier or pinch the nose during cleaning to prevent fluid entry into the airway.

Drying & Storage

• Pat dry, then air dry or use a cool hair-dryer setting.

• Apply a light dusting of baby powder before storage.

• Store flat, in a cool dry place away from sunlight.

Repairs
Minor surface marks or tears can be repaired using the supplied MedicFX Silicone Repair Kit.
