Baby Simira: Neonatal Skills Trainer

Purpose-built for advanced neonatal resuscitation and vascular access training, Baby SIMira combines high clinical accuracy with functional realism, without electronics or complexity.

Baby SIMira is a hyper-realistic neonatal skills trainer purpose-built for post-delivery airway, vascular access, and resuscitation training. Each model is manufactured to replicate the delicate weight, flexibility, and appearance of a full-term newborn.

Engineered for simulation specialists, midwifery and neonatal educators, SIMira allows learners to practise high-stakes procedures with true-to-life tactile and visual realism. She is floppy and flexible like a real infant, with compressible chest recoil, functional fluid pathways, and interchangeable parts for extended training use.

Note: Baby SIMira is a post-delivery training model and not suitable for use within birthing simulators.

Baby SIMira is designed for Newborn Life Support (NLS/NBLS), Advanced Newborn Life Support (ANLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training.
She supports the following procedures:

Airway & Breathing
Oral and nasal intubation
Bag-valve-mask (BVM) and ventilator-assisted ventilation (visible chest rise/fall)
LMA and cuffed LMA insertion
Airway suction and clearance training
Replaceable airway modules (x3)

Circulation & Access
Umbilical vein cannulation (UVC) using 3-channel cords (2 arteries + 1 vein)
Peripheral IV cannulation (right arm with fluid feedback)
Intraosseous (IO) access (right leg, replaceable tibial bones)
Flashback simulation via positive-pressure syringe system

Resuscitation & Procedural Skills
Two-finger and two-thumb CPR with realistic recoil
NG tube insertion and aspiration confirmation
Integration with NLS/NRP scenarios including airway and vascular access

Wash gently with warm soapy water; disinfect using ≤70% isopropyl alcohol.

Do not immerse the manikin fully in water.
Always place the pacifier in the mouth or pinch the nose during cleaning to prevent fluid entry.
Dry with a soft towel or cool hairdryer.
Apply baby powder before storage.
Minor surface damage can be repaired using the MEDICFX Silicone Repair Kit.
Store flat in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.
